What is considered a luxury??? There are things I consider luxuries because I am used to having them in my every day life, but now that I said that out loud to myself, I realize, those things ARE luxuries. I am simply used to having them. I think I will think through my day and see what is the one thing I really really need for my sanity. I feel lucky and blessed to be able to hop in my car and go where I want, call who I want and read and post what I want on the internet. Social media feels like a God given right at this point (amma I right here?!?!) but I need my computer and some apps to jazz up my posts too. Well all this thinking has my stomach reminding me its there and in need of attention so Ill hop in the car and…nawwww. Ill just door dash and order something from my phone. Then ill walk in my back yard for a bit, continue to work remotely and maybe take a dip in the pool./ Wait. Hungry again. Time to head to my fridge for a snack from all the food I purchased earlier at the store. I better heat up my left over burrito in my microwave……
You can see where this is going. I am so lucky to have all these items I consider just every day living (I didn’t even mention electricity to run all my favorite electronics), but at the end of the day, after all is said and done and i’m ready to wind down, my shower/bathroom is my sanity saver. I can lock the door (the only room in my house of 4 that locks), let the running water run over me and my mind goes free and the stress of the day goes down the drain. Its a mental visual I have to literally remove my anxiety down the drain and honestly, it works. So please, do not mess with my shower time. Its the one item (well a whole room/experience I guess) but the actual shower with a drain, holds the key to a good nights sleep for me.
